It's Been a While

It has been a really long time since I have posted in this blog....a really really long time.  I'm sorry for those of you who have been checking daily for over a year wondering when I would show an once of mercy and post something new.

Well here it is....these are just some of the works that have been keeping me busy for the past few weeks.

First up...super cute coffee cozy's! Of course you could use them for tea as well...

I've also been working on some stellar cacti.

I am thinking of teaching classes in the area and think these might just be a good first project for some crafty folks..

Ah what else...oh yes!  How could I forget the family of owls I made for a little kid's birthday party...I hope they were a hoot!!

Ok thats it for now....I am current busy moving into a 130 year old log cabin..stay tuned for a needle felt rendition of this magical place

Aspen or Birch?

I think these trees are pretty birch...Paul things they are aspen.

Either way they are they newest addition to the family!

The frames were made from driftwood off the Kachemak Bay in Homer, AK...so you say this piece is completely Akaska Made  (which seems to be a pretty big deal here..)

Something a little different..

Don't get me wrong I love to needle felt animals and nature..but lately I have been experimenting with the jewelry side of the art world.

I love the outcomes..but do not love the increased number of finger stabs I get from working with such small amounts of wool!

Here are some of the pieces I finished earlier this week...

Yes, those are eggplants in case you were wondering..

Our new friend Tom let us camp on his property in Alaska this week..we love Tom!! He also happened to have a great piece of bark and wire laying around..which made for a great backdrop.

Here's me hiking in Hope, AK!
